Centre de Desenvolupament Rural Integrat de Catalunya

PRESENTATION

The Integrated Rural Development Centre of Catalonia (Centre de Desenvolupament Rural Integrat de Catalunya) (CEDRICAT) was founded as an initiative of the Forest Technologic Centre of Catalonia, to which several institutions linked to the Catalan rural world are attached. It is designed to create an explicit entity for helping the rural world in this same field.

The CEDRICAT is articulated as a private Foundation with the aim of integrating all the profiles of social and economic agents interested in rural development.

The beneficiaries of the CEDRICAT are essentially organisms, entities or others with capacity for planning and/or management of economic and technical resources destined to action applied in rural zones.

MISSION

Its aim is to generate and optimise the economic resources that can contribute to rural development, especially those linked to non-ordinary resources, among which those destined related to sustainability, development of emerging sectors, use of European resources and the struggle for equal opportunities stand out as of strategic interest. As strategic objective is to contribute to improving the standard of living of the rural populations, emphasising those areas that are especially peripheral and distant from the decision-making centres.

WORK PROGRAMMES

General projects that imply planning and/or generation of technical and economic resources for rural zones, independently of the origin of the funds that make this possible (although these are mainly European), especially linked to the sustainability of the territory and the promotion of diversification of production.

Design and/or management of projects linked to European structural funds, with the clear aim of securing and/or optimising non-ordinary economic contributions for the rural zones. The contribution of the CEDRICAT can be technical or as physical space (rent or cession of space for offices, seminars or others).

Territorial and environmental planning. With the aim that sustainable management of the rural zones also means generating resources to maintain the population and, that the protected areas do not represent a brake on rural development.

Support for the emerging sectors : new technologies, rural handicrafts, ecological agriculture, cultural management, with the aim of facilitating access to the structural changes that can benefit the rural environment and its productive sectors.
