MED BIO project
Sustainable development
The global environmental, health, social and economic situation is going to generate a tightening and a harmonisation of legislation vital for the sustainable development of our planet. This development, while linked to Globalisation, must not be governed it.
We must accept that sustainable development is becoming a factor in competitiveness and a vehicle for adding value.
The production of organic and natural products fits neatly into this rationale. This sector is young enough that practically all the players are Small and Medium sized Enterprises (PME) and Very Small Enterprises (TPE). It is important to promote and maintain this development.
MED BIO Distri Net project
The aim of the MED BIO Distri Net project is to assist in the development of companies processing and distributing organic agricultural products, to organise cross-company skill sharing with the partner Regions and between processing and distribution companies. The six regional partners are: Rhône-Alps and Provence-Alps-Cote d’Azur in France, Lombardy and Tuscany in Italy and Catalonia and Mercia in Spain. The originality of MED BIO Distri Net lies in:
- Its taking into account of all segments of the Organic market: foodstuffs, health products and cosmetics,
- Its taking of distribution as the angle of attack Today distribution is the driving force in the processing and in the consumption of organic products.
For this, qualitative and quantitative benchmarking exercises will be organised. The qualitative exercise will identify the common obstacles and innovations identified in the different regions. Skills and experience sharing will be organised through a pilot scheme according to the needs expressed and identified during the qualitative phase.
MED BIO Distri Net lies in the Community Initiative Programme Interreg lll B. MEDOCC and this project are co-financed by Europe under the Feder framework.
